Emma and Erica’s love story, through their own words, is one for the ages:
“Erica was playing with the Sons of Pitches softball team at Kennedy Park in the summer of 2021. The team was down a handful of girls due to a covid spike in pregnancies therefore needing full season subs. A long time SON and lead off hitter, Colleen Biebel, picked up a couple of her past college teammates to fill the open spots on the team. The first game came and Erica was standing at the field chatting with the other SONs when Emma walked up with her best friend Megg. And as the story goes Megan leaned over to Emma as they were walking away from the field and said “Emma you should date that girl” and she was pointing to Erica. The next week the SONs were back in action ready for game 2. Captain Brit decided you needed to wear a shirt to the game that was a symbol of your personality. Erica wore a Spongebob drivers license shirt and Emma was in an olive nutritional value t-shirt. (Thanks Colleen McMahon) After the game the team stayed at the park to have a couple drinks which led to Reilly’s Daughter for “one more drink”. Erica and Emma had been chatting most of the night. After showing up late, Colleen Biebel orders “redhawk bombs” for the team. The team cheers and she sees Erica and Emma and says “OMG you guys should date”. One drink turned into “last call” and a very tough day of work for Erica the next morning as she was running on 3 hours of sleep. The texting started and hasn’t stopped since. Some days passed and Emma was going on a 2 week trip to Hawaii. But before she could leave Erica asked Emma on a date. They went to Americano’s where the date lasted 4 hours. Emma was leaving the next morning. They continued to talk the whole 2 weeks Emma was gone despite the time difference. When Emma got back the summer stayed busy for both Emma and Erica between bachelor/bachelorette parties, weddings, and all things softball. But despite the crazy summer of 2021 Erica and Emma still made time for each other leading to August 26th 2021 the day it became official. Erica, Emma and Buster moved in together in October of 2022 and got engaged on February 1st of 2025!”
When Erica and Emma’s wedding day arrived we were so happy to be a part of the celebration! The whole bridal party rocked Hawaiian shirts as they were all getting ready, and Erica’s had a custom print with their dog Buster on it! After Erica and Emma’s sweet first look they both had a shot of Dr. McGillicuddy black cherry liqueur, we were proud of them for keeping their wedding ‘fits clean and loved that they got the party started right away!
After Erica and Emma’s emotional ceremony they raced to the bar for their signature drinks, Miller Lite and Twisted Tea (which popped up later on custom koozies and big foam cutouts during the reception). Their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner thanks to the staff at Gaelic Park before digging into an epic candy bar to honor Erica’s sweet tooth. We loved dancing the night away at this unforgettable wedding!
Congratulations, Erica and Emma, we love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
