Eva and John share a truly special love, they really are two soulmates who managed to find one another. Since their first date after swiping on Hinge they have made countless memories together – from their first trip to Door County to spotting bears in Yellowstone, cheering on the Chicago Bears and dreaming about all the places they would one day explore. Along the way, they discovered that our favorite adventures aren't defined by the destination, but by being together. On Christmas Day in 2024, Eva found “one last gift” behind the tree, and when she turned around John was down on one knee with a ring in hand. Saying yes came effortlessly and this wonderful couple started planning their forever together.

I was really thankful to get to know Eva and John this Summer at their engagement session at Independence Grove. They are just so easy to be around and share such a beautiful connection, I loved observing their love and taking their pictures! I later told Christy that John has to be the biggest “green flag” groom I have ever met, he is remarkably kind and thoughtful and deeply in love with Eva. During their engagement session John sweetly asked if he and Eva could show off their ballroom dancing moves, they had been taking lessons and he thought it would make for a good photo op. They both lit up when dancing together, it was just beautiful and so, so sweet.

When their wedding day arrived Christy and I were so excited to celebrate with Eva and John. Eva looked radiant, the talented team at The Glam Legacy did an amazing job on the girls’ hair and makeup. Once she was in her beautiful gown Eva did a sweet reveal with her bridesmaids and then shared a special moment with her Dad when he tearfully saw his little girl for the first time as a bride. From there Eva made her way to see John for their first look; she hiked up her skirt, grabbed an umbrella braved the rain to exchange private vows with her groom outside. It was so. romantic.

Eva and John chose to be married in the gorgeous St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church. Their traditional ceremony was filled with emotion and beauty, and afterwards we were excited to have a few moments to make some epic pictures in the sanctuary before leaving for Chevy Chase Country Club. When we arrived the Grand Ballroom was filled with delicious smells thanks to an unbelievable Polish snack cart set up for cocktail hour. It was the first of many lavish displays of food set out for guests to honor Eva and John, this wedding had more food than any we have ever been to!

Following Eva and John’s joyful entrance into the reception their parents welcomed them with bread, salt, and champagne, a cherished Polish tradition symbolizing their love and blessings as they began their married life. The bread represents the hope for their home to be filled with abundance and prosperity. The salt reminds us that life will have both joyful and challenging moments. It symbolizes resilience, wisdom, and the strength to face those moments together. Finally, they shared a toast with champagne, celebrating happiness and love. John then surprised everyone by giving a speech in Polish to honor his new in-laws. there wasn’t a dry eye in the house to see the lengths that he had gone to for his beautiful bride. It was the most wonderful day and we are so thankful that we could be a part of it!
