Hannah and Daniel met the old-fashioned way – on Bumble – back in August 2020 during Covid. They went on lots of outdoor dates together around the city in places like Lincoln Park, Piccolo Sogno, and Kayaking on the River. They began spending more and more time together (mostly eating and traveling) and quickly began to blend their lives together. Hannah and Daniel got THE sweetest dog, Kona, in May 2024 and shortly after got engaged in Montgomery Ward Park by the river, near where they had lived for 2 years. Conrad was lucky enough to be there to photograph their proposal (his wife is Hannah’s best friend!) and we were excited to start their wedding journey with them!
We were really glad that Hannah and Daniel asked us to photograph their wedding, and beyond excited when we found out they were getting married at The Chicago Cultural Center! I loved getting to know Hannah and Daniel at their engagement session in Lincoln Park – we started with pizza and laughs at at DeNucci’s and then explored near the neighborhood where Hannah and Daniel first fell in love before ending up at the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk. That pretty Fall evening only made me that much more excited to celebrate their wedding this Summer!
When their wedding day rolled around the weather was absolutely gorgeous and Conrad and I were so happy to meet up with Hannah and her bride squad at The Chicago Athletic Association. Right from the start it was clear that Kona was the real star of the show, she looked SO cute in her pearl collar (that she let me hang her Mom and Dad’s rings off of!) The energy was high and the bridesmaids all looked SO good in their colorful mismatched dresses, and when Hannah changed into her lace couture Galia Lahav gown all eyes were one her for the rest of the day!
After Hannah did a sweet reveal with her Dad and bridesmaids we brought her downstairs to see Daniel for their first look in the iconic Athletic Association staircase. We didn’t have much time in that gorgeous space but we managed to get a lot of beautiful pictures of the two of them before we left to walk down Michigan Avenue towards the river. At the riverwalk we took tons of pretty photos of Hannah, Daniel, their wedding party and immediate families. Once we finished we had the crazy idea to do a quick stop with Hannah and Daniel at a 7/11 for Slurpees – I mean, if you get married on July 11th you sort of HAVE to stop in a 7/11 for a few fun shots!
When we got back to the Cultural Center we had some time for pictures of Hannah and Daniel in the stunning lobby and staircase before their ceremony. We could have shot here all day and were really thankful for the time we did have to take photos of Hannah and Daniel there! Soon it was time for their traditional Jewish ceremony and then the party really got started!! Conrad tagged out to become a guest and Christy came to relieve him, we had the most amazing time all celebrating the newlyweds in this absolutely gorgeous space! It was a wedding we will always remember and be grateful to have been a part of!
Congratulations, Hannah and Daniel, we love you and wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
